Today, we’re diving into a passage that serves as a cornerstone for our calling as believers – The Great Commission, found in Matthew 28:16-20.

After the resurrection, Jesus appeared to His disciples on a mountain in Galilee. It’s here that He gives them, and essentially all of us, a mission that would shape the future of Christianity. He said,

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

The Great Commission is not just a call to action; it’s a reminder of our purpose and the heart of our journey with Christ. It pushes us beyond the walls of comfort, into the vastness of creation, to share the love and teachings of Jesus.

So, how does this apply to our daily lives? It’s simple yet profound. Every interaction is an opportunity to reflect Jesus’ love. Whether it’s through our words, our actions, or our attitudes, we are called to be disciples and make disciples. This doesn’t mean you need to book a flight to a distant land tomorrow—though you certainly can! It means living out the gospel where you are, with what you have.

And let’s not forget, Jesus ended His commission with a promise – “I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” This assurance is the bedrock of our courage and commitment. It means in our efforts to share His word, we are never alone.

Now, I’d like to invite you to a moment of reflection. Grab your journal, and ponder this:

How can I live out The Great Commission in my personal life, workplace, and community? Consider the talents and resources at your disposal, and how they might be used to fulfill this sacred call.

As we wrap up today’s episode, I invite you to join me in a short prayer.

Dear Heavenly Father, guide us as we strive to live out The Great Commission. Help us to see the opportunities You place before us to share Your love and teachings. Grant us the wisdom to teach by example, the courage to step out in faith, and the assurance of Your constant presence. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

May this exploration of The Great Commission inspire you to walk in faith and purpose.

Until next time, keep the faith and continue to shine His light in all corners of the world.

Be Blessed.
