In Matthew 25:35, Jesus tells us, “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.” This verse reminds us that we have the opportunity to meet Jesus in our daily lives through acts of kindness and service to others.
Every day, we encounter people who are hungry, thirsty, or in need of a helping hand. When we reach out to them with love and compassion, we are not only meeting their physical needs but also encountering Jesus Himself. Just as Jesus identifies with the least of these, we too can experience His presence in the simple gestures of kindness and generosity we extend to others.
Let us be mindful of the opportunities we have to meet Jesus in our daily lives. Whether it’s through volunteering at a local food pantry, sharing a meal with a homeless individual, or simply offering a listening ear to someone in need, we can choose to see the face of Jesus in those around us. May we be inspired by the example set forth in Matthew 25:35 to love and serve others as though we are serving the Lord Himself.
