Matthew 17 24 – The Coin in the Fish’s Mouth – A Lesson in Faith | Bible 101 Devotional

Bible 101

In Matthew 17:24-27, we read about the story of Jesus instructing Peter to find a coin in the mouth of a fish in order to pay the temple tax. This story serves as a powerful lesson in faith and provision.

Peter initially lacked faith and doubted Jesus’ instructions, but when he obeyed and followed through, he witnessed a miraculous provision. This story reminds us that God is able to provide for our needs in ways that we may not expect or understand. It challenges us to trust in God’s faithfulness and to step out in faith, even when things seem impossible.

Just as Jesus provided for Peter’s needs in a miraculous way, He can also provide for us today. When we trust in Him and obey His commands, he will provide for us and meet our every need. Let us have faith like Peter, believing that God is able to do the impossible and trusting in His provision for our lives.
