Spiritual Devotional about Energy Work

Spiritual Energy Work & The Bible

God is energy. He created the universe and all the energy within it. This may be a bold statement for some, but as we delve into the scriptures, it becomes abundantly clear that God is the master of all types of energy, including spiritual energy.

Understanding Energy Work

Energy work is a broad term that encompasses various healing and spiritual practices that aim to clear, repair and balance the body’s energy systems. This can be accomplished through techniques such as Reiki, Qigong, Tai Chi, Acupuncture, and others. The premise is that our physical body is animated by and connected to a spiritual energy body. When this energy system is balanced and flowing freely, it promotes health, well-being and spiritual growth.

Exploring Spiritual Energy in The Bible

Before we move further, let’s not forget the energy in the Bible. The Bible tells us, in Acts 17:28, “for in Him we live and move and have our being.” In a way, the Bible is speaking about a form of spiritual energy- the life force that fuels our existence and movement. Moreover, Jesus is frequently described as the Light of the World. In John 8:12 he declares, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

This ‘light of life’ can also be viewed as a vibrant spiritual energy that comes from a relationship with Jesus. When we invite Christ into our hearts and lives, we invite this light and energy in as well.

Building a Bridge between Energy Work and Christian Faith

As Christians, we are often taught to be cautious about yoga, meditation, and other spiritual practices. However, energy work- when used with discernment- can be an additional resource to turbo-charge our spiritual life.

Remember, God is energy. By engaging with energy healing techniques or meditations, we are not engaging with a new deity or power but are embracing the healing potential that God Himself has placed within us. It is all about redirecting our focus towards God, channelling our energy to align with His purpose, and reconnecting to Him at a deeper level.

As believers, this doesn’t mean we relinquish our faith in Christ’s healing power and provision. Instead, we can see energy work as a tool God provides for His people to use- always relying on His wisdom and direction.

A Personal Prayer

As we explore spiritual energy work, let us pray for God’s guidance and wisdom. “Dear Lord, guide us in our journey of spiritual growth. Help us to use these tools wisely and with discernment, always focussed on You. Let Your healing energy flow through us, bringing physical and spiritual wholeness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Remember, our spiritual path is personal and unique. Energy work is just one of many tools that can help us align more closely with God’s energy. So, embrace the journey, dive deeper into the scriptures, and pray for God’s wise guidance along the way.
