Devotional: From Scarcity to Abundance: Breaking the Chains of Poverty

Scripture Reading:

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.” – Ephesians 3:20 (NIV)

Reflection:

In a world marked by economic disparity and the weight of poverty, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed by scarcity. Many of us have experienced seasons where resources felt limited—whether that be financial, emotional, or spiritual. Yet, as we delve into the concept of abundance, we discover that true wealth is not just about material possessions but is rooted deeply in God’s generosity, love, and grace.

Scarcity tells us that our needs will never be met, that there’s not enough to go around, and that survival is a relentless struggle. It confines us, shackling our potential and dampening our spirits. However, the promise found in Ephesians 3:20 reminds us that our God is not limited by human concepts of abundance. He is capable of doing “immeasurably more” than we can ask or imagine.

Understanding the transition from scarcity to abundance requires a shift in mindset.
