Devotional: Called to Lead – Embracing Your Divine Purpose
Scripture Reading: 1 Peter 4:10-11 (NIV)
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.”
Reflection:
In every corner of life, there beckons a call to leadership that is deeply rooted in our divine purpose. To lead is not merely to hold a title or position; it is to embrace the responsibility of serving others with love and humility. Each of us has been uniquely gifted and called for a purpose greater than ourselves—one that reflects God’s grace and love to the world.
As we explore what it means to be called to lead, we must first acknowledge that our leadership begins with servanthood. Jesus exemplified this perfectly, washing the feet of His disciples, demonstrating that true leadership is found in the willingness to serve. In our workplaces, homes, churches, and communities, every act of kindness, every word of encouragement, and every decision made with integrity contributes to the tapestry of God’s plan.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gifts and talents You have bestowed upon me. Help me to see my role as a leader not in terms of authority or accolades but as an opportunity to serve others. Teach me to embrace my divine purpose with an open heart and a willing spirit. May my words reflect Your truth, and my actions showcase Your love and grace. Guide me as I seek to lead in my community, and empower me with Your strength to fulfill my calling. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
Action Step:
This week, take time to identify one area in your life where you can lead by serving. Whether it’s in your workplace, at home, or in your faith community, commit to making a difference. Perhaps it’s mentoring someone, volunteering your time, or simply being a compassionate listener. Reflect on how your unique gifts can impact others positively, and remember that every small act of service can lead to extraordinary change.
Closing Thought:
As we step into our call to lead, let us remember that we do not walk this journey alone. God equips us with the Holy Spirit to guide our decisions and actions. Trust in His provision, knowing that as we embrace our divine purpose, He is faithful to work in and through us for His glory.
