Scripture Reading:
Ephesians 2:14-18 (NIV)
"For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility. He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit."
Reflection:
In our journey of faith, we often encounter walls—barriers that hinder our communication with God. These walls can manifest as sin, fear, doubt, and even unforgiveness. However, Ephesians reminds us that Christ has broken these barriers. He came to reconcile us, providing us direct access to the Father through the Holy Spirit.
Think of a time when you felt distant from God. What was the barrier? Was it a lingering sin? A heart filled with doubt? Or maybe the distractions of everyday life? Acknowledging these walls is the first step toward overcoming them.
Prayer:
Dear Father, thank You for breaking down the walls that separate me from You. Help me to recognize the barriers in my life—whether they be fear, guilt, or pride. Equip me with the strength to dismantle them so I can communicate with You freely. Let my heart be open to Your voice, and may I experience the peace that comes from knowing You.
Action Step:
This week, dedicate time to explore your barriers. Journal your thoughts and feelings, and pray earnestly for guidance on how to dismantle these walls. Consider seeking accountability from a trusted friend or mentor who can support you on this journey. Remember, in Christ, you have access to the Father—no barriers can hold you back from His love and grace.
Closing Thought:
As you break down the walls, remain open to God’s whispers. He desires to communicate with you, not just in moments of crisis, but in everyday moments of beauty and grace. Seek Him, and find that the barriers will fade in the light of His love.
