Devotional: Collateral Damage: Unveiling the Environmental Impact of Armed Conflicts

For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God."

Armed conflicts not only claim human lives but also leave behind an often-overlooked legacy of environmental devastation. From deforestation to chemical contamination, the scars of war stretch far beyond the battlefield. Innocent ecosystems bear the brunt of violence, and the very air, soil, and water can become tainted, threatening not only wildlife but also the communities that depend on these natural resources.
