Archaeologists Uncover Lost Maya City in Mexican Jungle, Revealing Rich History and Lessons for Today
A groundbreaking discovery in the dense jungles of Mexico’s Campeche state has unveiled a lost city of the ancient Maya civilization, complete with majestic temple pyramids, enclosed plazas, and a reservoir. The findings, detailed in their study published in Antiquity, illustrate Valeriana as a Classic Maya political capital, rich with architectural structures indicative of early urban planning.
