New Leadership Takes the Helm at London Internet Exchange as Jennifer Holmes Appointed CEO
In a significant move for the London Internet Exchange (LINX), the organization has appointed Jennifer Holmes as its new CEO, effective November 25. This decision comes after an extensive global search following the tenure of Kurtis Lindqvist. Jennifer, who has been with LINX since 2007 and currently serves as chief commercial officer, steps into this pivotal role at a momentous time—the celebration of LINX’s 30 years in the interconnectivity sector.
Under Jennifer’s leadership, LINX has seen remarkable growth, with membership soaring from 200 to over 980 global networks. Her extensive experience positions her well to guide LINX as it navigates the future landscape of internet connectivity across the UK, US, and Africa.
In her statement following the announcement, Jennifer expressed her gratitude and commitment, saying, "I am truly honoured and proud to be taking over from Kurtis and step into this role, leading a company that has already achieved so much. This is an exciting chapter in LINX’s history… I look forward to working closely with the staff, Board of Directors, and members in the coming years."
Pieter Knook, Chair of the LINX Board of Directors, praised Jennifer’s selection, highlighting her authenticity and ability to connect with diverse stakeholders, qualities that resonate deeply with the essence of effective leadership. "The Board was unanimous in their choice for Jennifer,” he stated. “I am very much looking forward to working with her…"
In reflecting on this transition, we can draw inspiration from biblical principles that emphasize the importance of service, stewardship, and community. Much like the early leaders in faith who demonstrated humility and dedication to their missions, Jennifer’s approach to leadership embodies the spirit of collaboration and respect, which are foundational to fruitful service.
As Philippians 2:3-4 instructs, “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.” This passage invites leaders not only to pursue their own vision but also to elevate those around them.
Jennifer Holmes’ rise to CEO represents more than just a leadership change; it offers a reminder of the value of nurturing community and the potential that lies in partnerships. As LINX embarks on this new chapter, may it serve as a beacon of hope and growth, inviting us all to reflect on our roles within our communities—whether in business, friendships, or faith.
As we witness this new beginning, let us take a moment to reflect: How can we uplift and support those around us in our own spheres of influence? The call to community and service is timeless, and every step toward collaboration can lead to transformative growth.
