On my first inquiry, the AI boldly stated, “It is May 28, 2024,” even though I was asking on May 29, 2025. The confusion deepened on the second try, where the AI suggested, “According to the provided information, for some locations it might be 2025, but not everywhere on Earth.” The final attempt culminated in a puzzling blend of truths and fabrications, culminating in the statement: “No, it is not 2025. The current year is 2024.”
This errant but elaborate response serves as a reminder of our need for discernment in an age dominated by technology. As the world around us becomes increasingly reliant on AI for information, we are called to seek wisdom and clarity—a principle rooted deeply in Christian teachings. In Matthew 7:16, it states, “You will recognize them by their fruits.” This invites us to evaluate the sources of our information critically, ensuring they align with truth and integrity.
