DE-CIX India Partners with Starlink: Pioneering the Future of Digital Connectivity
In a groundbreaking development, DE-CIX India has become the first internet exchange platform in the country to integrate Starlink into its interconnection ecosystem. This partnership seeks to challenge the traditional notion that internet connectivity is solely a terrestrial endeavor at a time when India is on the cusp of a digital transformation.

Founded in 1995, DE-CIX operates in 60 locations worldwide, linking over 600 cities and serving carriers, internet service providers (ISPs), and content networks from more than 100 countries. With a focus on enhancing peering between major networks in major Indian cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, and Bengaluru, DE-CIX India aims to boost internet performance across the board, thereby strengthening the nation’s digital economy.
The introduction of Starlink—which utilizes low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites—offers new hope for regions that have long been deprived of reliable internet access.
