BroadbandOne Joins Savannah’s Connectivity Landscape: A Look at Growth and Community Ties

By: Brad Randall, Broadband Communities

In a move that could reshape the connectivity landscape in Savannah, Georgia, BroadbandOne, a California-based wireless telco-as-a-service (TaaS) provider, has announced its strategic expansion into the region. This development not only promises to increase the options available to local businesses and residents, but it also underscores the importance of community growth and connectivity—a theme that resonates deeply within many biblical teachings.

BroadbandOne’s entry into Savannah marks its second expansion, following a similar initiative in Salinas, California, which took place last year in partnership with Etheric Networks. The company’s CEO expressed that this venture is just the beginning, as BroadbandOne looks toward future expansions into additional markets within the Southeast, leveraging its licensed 28GHz mmWave spectrum for heightened connectivity.

As Jason Celaya, BB1’s director of business development, explained, "With fixed wireless access (FWA-mmWave), all we need is a rooftop and a clear line of sight from our tower—now businesses have access to high-speed, enterprise-grade internet without the wait." This groundbreaking approach is timely, especially in regions where traditional fiber deployment remains years away.

Reflecting on such advancements, we are reminded of the power of community and connection. In the book of Ecclesiastes, it states, “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil” (Ecclesiastes 4:9, ESV). Just as this verse emphasizes collaboration and mutual support, BroadbandOne’s expansion will empower local businesses by enhancing their access to improved internet services, fostering an environment where partnerships and growth can thrive.

Savannah is not alone in welcoming new providers; the city has recently seen a flurry of internet service providers—including IQ Fiber and LiveOak Fiber—making their mark. The increasing competition can be seen as a blessing, echoing the biblical principle of seeking to uplift and support one another, ultimately leading to a more fruitful community environment.

As BroadbandOne prepares for its services to take root, this moment serves as a reminder that progress often comes through a combination of individual effort and communal growth. By embracing opportunities for connection, we can create a foundation for long-term success and support.

For those reflecting on this development, there is a broader spiritual lesson to be gleaned: just as BroadbandOne aims to bridge gaps in connectivity, we too are called to connect with and support those in our communities. In a world of rapid change and challenges, let us strive to be agents of growth and positive influence, ensuring that we foster an environment where everyone can thrive.

As we anticipate the changes this expansion may bring, consider how you might contribute to fostering connection in your community, living out the biblical call to love and support one another. After all, with each new connection, we have the opportunity to build bridges that lead to greater understanding and collaboration.
