Mental Health Trust Admits Failures in Care of Deceased 16-Year-Old, Elise Sebastian

Elise, a cherished Harry Potter enthusiast and aspiring animal caretaker, was found unresponsive at the St Aubyn Centre unit in Colchester in April 2021. The inquest, which began this week, brought to light the distressing series of oversights during her care, particularly around the one-to-one supervision mandated for her due to her previous self-harm attempts.
