NATPE Appoints New Executive Board to Navigate Evolution in Media Landscape

In a significant move to navigate the ever-changing media landscape, the National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE) has appointed a new executive board. This development comes two years after NATPE’s trade shows were acquired by the Canadian media firm Brunico, a time marked by reimagining and restructuring within the organization.

The newly assembled board features high-profile executives from leading media and technology firms, representing a broad spectrum of both linear television and streaming services. Members include Brad Beale of Amazon MGM Studios, Kevin Beggs of Lionsgate Television Group, and Michael Bonner of NBCUniversal, among others. This diverse group is poised to guide NATPE’s strategic direction, aiming to bolster its two major events: NATPE Global in Miami and NATPE Budapest.

Reflecting on this leadership shift, it’s noteworthy that the board will tackle critical issues such as global market navigation and industry connectivity—efforts that align with a biblical principle of community and collaboration, as exemplified in Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, which states, “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.” This verse highlights the strength found in partnership and mutual support, a sentiment that is particularly relevant as NATPE looks to grow its impact in a competitive environment.

As Claire Macdonald, NATPE’s Senior Vice President and Executive Director, stated, “This board embodies the innovative, cross-platform spirit that defines today’s content landscape.” Her emphasis on innovation mirrors the biblical idea of creating something new and valuable, akin to the transformative messages taught by Jesus.

The executive board’s role will be distinct from the organization’s annual content advisory boards, focusing on broader strategic issues that affect the industry at large.
