FilmNation Entertainment Prepares to Launch New Action Franchise with ‘Painter’ Starring Amber Midthunder and Alan Ritchson

FilmNation Entertainment’s production label, Infrared, is generating buzz with its upcoming action film Painter, poised to be a potential franchise starter. The film features rising U.S. actress Amber Midthunder, known for her roles in Prey and Legion, alongside Alan Ritchson from Reacher. This ambitious project underscores the influence of strong narrative and character development, echoing the importance of perseverance and dedication.

Written by Derek Kolstad, renowned for creating the John Wick series, Painter will be helmed by Garrett Warren, previously celebrated for his stunt coordination in films such as Logan and Avatar. Warren’s transition from stunt work to directorial responsibilities is a testament to the principle of growth through challenge—a concept reflected in scripture.

The plot revolves around a young woman, trained from an early age, who must leverage her skills to rescue her kidnapped father. This narrative resonates with the notion of sacrificial love and responsibility, akin to the biblical teachings of Jesus, who often emphasized the significance of caring for family and community.

As FilmNation prepares to present Painter at the American Film Market in Las Vegas next week, it aims to catch the attention of potential distributors. The excitement surrounding this project highlights a market eager for compelling stories that reflect deep emotional connections as well as thrilling action sequences.

Drew Simon, President of Production at Infrared, expressed confidence in Midthunder’s potential to embody a new generation of action heroes, likening her character to Sarah Connor from Terminator. “We loved Kolstad’s high-octane script, and we know with Garrett Warren at the helm this film will kickstart an exciting new franchise in the world of action,” Simon remarked.

The collaborative effort to bring Painter to life involves a team of respected producers, with FilmNation managing international sales and co-representing domestic rights alongside CAA Media Finance. This level of cooperation and dedication is reminiscent of the biblical principle found in Ecclesiastes 4:9, “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor.”

As the film industry strives to tell profound stories and connect with audiences, Painter stands out as a project that not only entertains but also instills values of courage and loyalty. Amidst the excitement of cinematic ventures, it invites viewers to reflect on deeper themes of sacrifice and familial bonds, echoing the heart of Jesus’ teachings.

As we anticipate the release of Painter, let this moment serve as a reminder that in pursuing our passions and cultivating our talents, we can embody values that uplift and inspire. In every effort, let us aim for a deeper understanding of love and purpose, striving to contribute positively to our world.
