Two Young Women from Kerala Pioneer Voice AI Startup in Technological Frontier
Kochi: In an age where technology is reshaping industries, two women from Kochi, Kerala, are taking the initiative to harness the transformative power of artificial intelligence (AI). Neethu Mariam Joy and Nikkitha Shanker have embarked on an entrepreneurial journey with their startup, SuperBryn, aiming to create a robust AI infrastructure that enhances productivity and accessibility in various sectors.
Meeting during their entrepreneurial pursuits, the duo brings a wealth of experience to the table. Neethu’s academic accolades include a PhD from IIT-Madras, while Nikkitha has already successfully launched an e-commerce startup. Together, they’re poised to make significant strides in the deep-tech ecosystem of India.
SuperBryn’s primary focus is to simplify the development of voice AI agents through automated workflows. With over 800 million internet users in India, predominantly favoring voice interactions over text, Neethu highlights the immense potential, stating, “We want to be that single Voice AI layer that is going to enable developers to launch such applications quickly to the Indian market.”
Nikkitha echoes this vision, recognizing the role AI can play in bridging linguistic barriers, especially for the elderly who may struggle with conventional e-commerce platforms. “AI applications can bridge the gap to a great extent,” she explains, shedding light on how technology can cater to India’s linguistic diversity.
However, the road has not been without challenges. Both entrepreneurs shared their frustrations during the intricate development process of their voice AI models. “We were stuck and frustrated,” Nikkitha shared, describing their struggle with third-party integrations and real-time model mixing. Such challenges only strengthened their resolve to create a localized solution for the Indian market.
Bootstrapped last year, SuperBryn is a testament to perseverance and ingenuity. Their upcoming product, which focuses on the health sector, is set to launch within two months, with aspirations of democratizing voice AI applications throughout India.
