Devotional: Treasures of the Heart – Investing Wisely in Life’s Eternal Riches
Scripture Reading:
"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." — Matthew 6:19-21 (NIV)
Meditation:
In a world driven by materialism and transient pleasures, Jesus invites us to re-evaluate where we place our hearts’ affections. The treasures of the earth—wealth, status, and possessions—are temporary and can be easily lost. They promise satisfaction but often leave us feeling empty and distracted.
Instead, He calls us to invest in eternal riches that never fade. These treasures come from acts of love, kindness, faithfulness, and the impact we make in the lives of others. Every moment we spend serving God and seeking His kingdom adds to our eternal account.
