NRG Media to Sell Stations in Central Nebraska: A Move Toward Community Connection

In a significant shift for the radio landscape of Central Nebraska, NRG Media has agreed to sell its five local stations in Grand Island, Hastings, and Kearney to Usher Media, led by Alan Usher, for an undisclosed amount. This acquisition signifies not only a changing ownership but also a commitment to bolstering community ties through media.

The stations involved in the sale include Classic Rock "Rock 101.5" (KROR Hastings), Country station "Y102" (102.3 KRNY Kearney), CHR "Hits 106" (105.9 KQKY Kearney), Classic Hits "107.7 The Island" (KSYZ-FM Grand Island), and News/Talk "1340 KGFW"/(96.1 K241CN Kearney). Alan Usher, CEO of GI Family Radio, emphasized his excitement over this expansion, stating, “This strategic move underscores our commitment to expanding our media presence while staying deeply connected to our roots.”
