Manipur Government Extends Mobile Internet Suspension Amid Ongoing Violence
Imphal, Manipur – The Manipur government has announced a two-day extension of the mobile internet suspension across nine affected districts, a measure effective until December 3. This decision, taken by the Home Department, underscores the ongoing challenges in maintaining law and order in the state.
The districts impacted by this order include Imphal West, Imphal East, Kakching, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, Pherzawl, and Jiribam. The government indicated that the suspension of mobile services, including mobile data, VSATs, and VPN services, was necessary due to the volatile situation in the region.

Violence erupted after the recovery of the deceased bodies of three women and three children belonging to the Meitei community, triggering further unrest. The situation escalated after their disappearance amid a gunfight involving security forces and suspected Kuki-Zo militants earlier this month.
