What Jesus teaches about Happiness

Introduction

True joy and enduring happiness are those intangible treasures that everyone in the world yearns for. However, a profound truth exists that happiness is not found in external sources, but within ourselves, in the grace of God, and in following Christ’s teachings. This short devotional will walk you through the path of authentic happiness as taught by Jesus Himself.

Are you READY to explore and experience a spiritual journey where happiness is not dictated by circumstances but is a constant whiff of divine presence? If yes, then let’s dive in and MISS OUT NONE!

Bible Verse

“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” (Matthew 6:33, NIV)

Meaning

This verse is a powerful reminder from Jesus about where our focus should be if we are to truly experience happiness. Often, we seek happiness in material possessions, accolades, and human relationships. While these are not inherently bad, they are not the source of authentic happiness.

Jesus, in His Sermon on the Mount, is teaching us to prioritize God’s Kingdom and His righteousness above all else. In other words, putting God first and living according to His righteous standards is the path to true happiness. This doesn’t mean our life will be without challenges, but it does mean that our joy and happiness are not reliant on our circumstances.

Our joy, therefore, rests in God’s promises and His never-ceasing love for us. We can be happy because we are assured of His grace, mercy, and salvation, regardless of what happens around us.
