What Jesus teaches about Service
Introduction
Welcome to our short devotional on what Jesus teaches us about Service. We often find ourselves so lost in our day to day activities, that we can sometimes forget how powerful being of service to others can be. Jesus, throughout his life, set an incredible example of what true service looks like. He served the needy, the vulnerable, and even those who criticized and misunderstood him.
The world emphasizes gaining power and material wealth, but Jesus showed us that the true path to greatness lies in serving others. We invite you to join us as we explore this insightful theme, learning from the life of Jesus.
Bible Verse
“Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave—just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” – Matthew 20:26-28
Meaning
Serving others is at the heart of Jesus’ teachings. When He says that greatness comes through service, He is challenging the worldly definitions of success and superiority.
Through this scripture, we learn that true greatness comes from being humble and putting others’ needs before our own, just as Jesus did. He, being the Son of God, served others selflessly, even to the extent of giving His life as a ransom for many.
