Devotional: God’s Will is not always Easy

Trusting in God’s Plan

As believers, we are called to trust in God’s will for our lives. However, we must remember that His will is not always easy. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” While we may not understand the path that God has chosen for us, we can find peace in knowing that His plan is perfect.

Following Christ’s Example

Jesus himself faced trials and challenges as he fulfilled God’s will on earth. In Luke 22:42, Jesus prayed, “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” Even Jesus struggled with the difficult task ahead of him, but he ultimately submitted to the Father’s will. We can find strength in knowing that we are following in the footsteps of Christ when we face challenges in fulfilling God’s will for our lives.

Persevering in Faith

When we encounter difficulties in God’s will, we must persevere in faith. James 1:12 reminds us, “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.” Though the journey may be tough, our faithfulness will be rewarded. We can trust that God is working all things for our good, even when His will seems difficult to understand.
