Devotional about I am Defined by My God not My Past
Devotional: I Am Defined by My God not My Past
Forgiven and Redeemed
As a child of God, I am not defined by my past mistakes, failures, or shortcomings. I am forgiven and redeemed by the grace of my loving Savior. The old has gone, the new has come (2 Corinthians 5:17), and I am a new creation in Christ.
Victory in Christ
My identity is found in Christ alone, not in the things I have done or left undone. I am more than a conqueror through Him who loves me (Romans 8:37). His victory on the cross has set me free from the bondage of my past, and I now walk in the freedom and truth of His love.
Renewed Mind and Heart
Though my past may try to define me, I am transformed by the renewing of my mind (Romans 12:2). I choose to focus on the truth of God’s Word and allow it to shape my thoughts and attitudes. My heart is filled with the peace and joy that come from knowing I am cherished and valued by my Heavenly Father.
