Dear Heavenly Father,
I come before You today in awe of Your mercy and compassion, understanding that You desire genuine relationship with Your children. As I reflect on the words of Hosea 6:6, which says, “For I desire mercy, not sacrifice, and acknowledgment of God rather than burnt offerings,” I am reminded of Your heart, full of love and grace.
Lord, I confess that I have at times focused more on the external acts of religion rather than cultivating a sincere and humble heart before You. I have been misguided in thinking that my sacrifices and rituals alone would please You. But You, O God, desire so much more.
Help me, dear Lord, to truly understand the depth of Your desire for mercy and compassion. Open my eyes to the needs of others, that I may extend Your love to those around me. Teach me to have a heart that is quick to forgive, just as You forgive me daily. Help me to see past the outward appearances and judge with the same mercy and grace that You show me.
