Prayer related to theme of Matthew 6:19-21

Dear Heavenly Father,

As I come before you today, I am reminded of the words from Matthew 6:19-21, where Jesus teaches us to not store up treasures on earth, but to store up treasures in heaven. I confess that at times, I have been more focused on earthly possessions and wealth than on building up treasures in heaven. I pray for a renewed perspective, to prioritize the things that truly matter in your kingdom.

Help me to set my heart on things above, and to invest my time, talents, and resources in ways that honor you and further your kingdom. May my treasure be found in the love, grace, and mercy that you freely offer, rather than in material wealth that fades away.

I ask for your guidance in making wise decisions with my possessions, and for the strength to resist the temptations of greed and selfishness. May my heart be filled with generosity and a desire to share the blessings you have given me with others in need.

Thank you, Lord, for the reminder that where our treasure is, there our heart will be also. May my heart be fully devoted to you and the things that bring glory to your name.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
