Devotional: Go and Tell – The Call to Share His Good News

Scripture Reading:

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

— Matthew 28:19-20 (ESV)

Reflection:

As followers of Christ, we are given a precious commission — to go and tell the world about His love, grace, and the incredible good news of salvation. This is not just a task; it is a privilege! Imagine being entrusted with a light that can brighten the darkest corners of the world and bring hope to despair.

In our daily lives, it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle, to become preoccupied with our own challenges. Yet, Jesus calls us to step out of our comfort zones and share the transformative message that He so freely gave to us. There’s a world outside our walls that longs for the hope and assurance we have found in Him.

Encouragement:

The call to share His Good News may seem daunting, but remember that we are never alone in this mission. Jesus promises that He will be with us always. Take a moment to reflect on the joy that comes when you share your story. Your testimony, your experience of God’s faithfulness, is a powerful tool that can impact lives.

You don’t need a seminary degree or extensive biblical knowledge to share His love. A simple act of kindness, an encouraging word, or sharing your own experience of how God has worked in your life can profoundly influence someone else’s journey. The Good News of Christ is, at its core, a story — a story that invites others into a relationship with Him.

Practical Steps:

  1. Pray: Begin with prayer. Ask God for opportunities to share His love with those around you. Look for divine appointments in your everyday life, whether at work, school, or in the neighborhood.

  2. Be Intentional: Set aside time during your week where you can consciously seek to connect with others. It could be inviting a friend for coffee or volunteering in your community. Every interaction can be an opportunity to share the love of Christ.

  3. Share Your Story: Think about how Jesus has transformed your life. Write down key moments when you felt His presence, guidance, or peace. These are your powerful testimonies — share them!

  4. Encourage and Connect: Look for ways to encourage those who may be seeking or struggling with their faith. Showing genuine interest in their lives can open doors for meaningful conversations about Christ.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, thank You for the gift of Your Good News. Help me to be bold and courageous in sharing the love of Jesus with others. I pray for the hearts that need to hear Your message, and I ask for Your guidance in the opportunities You present. May my life be a reflection of Your grace, and may I always remember that You are with me, encouraging and empowering me to go and tell. Amen.

Closing Thought:

Today, let your heart be open to the leading of the Holy Spirit. As you go about your day, consider who you might reach out to. The world is hungry for hope, and you carry the Good News within you. Go and tell!
