Health and Wellness Devotional
God’s Design for Health
Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and it’s important to take care of them. The Bible teaches us to honor God with our bodies by treating them well.
Food as Fuel
Proverbs 25:27 says, “It is not good to eat too much honey, nor is it honorable to search out matters that are too deep.” Let’s strive for balance in our eating habits. Nourishing our bodies with healthy food gives us the energy to serve God and others.
- Choose whole, unprocessed foods
- Drink plenty of water
- Moderation in all things
Exercise for Strength
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 reminds us that our bodies are not our own, but they belong to God. Regular exercise helps us to stay strong and healthy, ready to serve the Lord with all our might.
- Find a form of exercise you enjoy
- Take time to move your body each day
Rest and Renewal
Even Jesus took time to rest and recharge. Mark 6:31 says, “Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, ‘Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.'” Let’s prioritize rest and self-care.
- Get enough sleep each night
- Set aside time for relaxation and reflection
