LONDON (AP) — As Halloween draws near, an elaborate celebration of creativity opens in London — "The World of Tim Burton," an exhibition that showcases the whimsical, and often eerie, imagination of one of cinema’s most distinctive directors. With ghosts, ghouls, and misfits aplenty, the exhibition not only highlights Burton’s significant contributions to film art but also reveals a pressing concern for the artist himself: the rise of artificial intelligence.
Burton expressed unease regarding AI during a preview event, sharing his unsettling experience viewing a website that melded his signature drawings with Disney characters using artificial intelligence. “It gave me a weird sort of scary feeling inside,” Burton explained, reflecting a deeply rooted apprehension toward technology that not only imitates creativity but can also blur the lines of authenticity.
