Stirring Up the Water Devotional

Sometimes You Have to Stir Up the Water

Embracing Change

Life can sometimes become stagnant, and we find ourselves in a rut, feeling stuck in our current situation. In those moments, we must remember the story of the pool of Bethesda in John 5:2-9. The angel would stir up the waters, and the first person to step in after the stirring would be healed. Like the pool of Bethesda, we must be willing to embrace change and stir up the waters of our own lives in order to experience healing and growth.

Stepping Out in Faith

Stirring up the waters requires faith and courage. It means stepping out of our comfort zones and into the unknown. Just as Peter had to step out of the boat to walk on water in Matthew 14:29, we must take that first step of faith in order to experience the miraculous. God is calling us to trust Him and take a leap of faith, knowing that He is with us every step of the way.

Trusting God’s Timing

When we stir up the waters in our lives, we may not always see immediate results. It can be tempting to become discouraged when things don’t happen as quickly as we’d like. However, we must trust God’s timing, knowing that He is always working behind the scenes on our behalf. Just as the woman with the issue of blood had to press through the crowd and touch the hem of Jesus’ garment in Luke 8:43-48, we must persist in faith and trust that God will bring about the breakthrough in His perfect timing.
