Porcupines, with their unique quilled coats, are currently unprotected in Oregon, leaving researchers like Mikayla Bivona, acting assistant wildlife biologist at the ODFW, with limited data on their life history. The call to action is clear. Citizens who encounter porcupines are encouraged to call the Ochoco Office at 541-591-1629 or fill out a reporting form<\/a>.
