In a remarkable display of resilience, a black bear that had been living with a large plastic lid stuck around its neck for two years was finally rescued in Michigan. The cause of the lid’s entrapment is not entirely clear. Although bear baiting is legal in Michigan, safety protocols typically ensure openings are large enough to prevent such mishaps. It remains a mystery how the 110-pound bear managed to survive the winters while burdened by the lid.<\/p>\n
