Meaning<\/h2>\n

The book of Judges tells the cycle of disobedience, bondage, repentance, and deliverance of the Israelites. In Judges 6:12, Gideon, the Israelite whom the Lord speaks to, is called a “mighty man of valor”. Interestingly, at that moment Gideon didn’t feel mighty or valorous. He was hiding, afraid for his life, yet God saw beyond his fear. He saw Gideon’s potential and his courageous heart.<\/p>\n

Our focus verse illustrates that God sees more in us than we see in ourselves. He sees us not just for who we are but who we can become – with His help. The Lord’s message to Gideon assures us that even when we feel weak, insignificant, or fearful, God sees our underlying strength, potential and worth. <\/p>\n
