Love is Patient, Love is Kind

When we think about love, we often think about romantic relationships. However, the Bible teaches us that love goes far beyond just romance. Love is patient and kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. (1 Corinthians 13:4-7)

  • Do you demonstrate patience and kindness in your relationships, even when it’s difficult?
  • How can you show love that does not keep a record of wrongs?
  • Are there areas in your life where you need to grow in demonstrating love to others?
  • How can you cultivate a spirit of love in your everyday interactions?

Love One Another

Jesus commands us to love one another, just as He has loved us. This means sacrificial, selfless love that puts others’ needs above our own. When we love others as Christ loves us, we reflect His love to the world. (John 13:34-35)

God’s Greatest Expression of Love

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16) God’s love for us is demonstrated in the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. This is the greatest expression of love the world has ever known.

  • How does God’s love for you inspire you to love others?
  • Do you fully grasp the depth of God’s love for you?
  • How can you share the love of God with those around you?
