Devotional: Legacy of Faith: Walking in the Footsteps of Seth

"Adam made love to his wife again, and she gave birth to a son and named him Seth, saying, ‘God has granted me another child in place of Abel, since Cain killed him.’ Seth also had a son, and he named him Enosh. At that time people began to call on the name of the Lord."

In the shadow of the early chapters of Genesis, we meet Seth, the third son of Adam and Eve—an unexpected gift in the face of tragedy. After the loss of Abel, who was brutally murdered by his brother Cain, Seth represents restoration and hope. His name means "appointed," reflecting God’s providential hand in a broken world. Seth not only carries on the family line, but he also marks a significant shift in the spiritual landscape.
